Bio

Chris Chism is a folk and country music singer hailing from Richmond, Indiana. Raised on a steady diet of bluegrass and classic country music, Chris learned guitar and banjo in his teens, and soon discovered a love for songwriting. His early musical projects in high school were in the metal, and punk genres, but he eventually found his way back to his roots, playing the music he grew up with.

After moving to North Carolina in search of a vibrant music scene, and a place to set down roots, Chris began playing more and more, honing his craft as a performer and songwriter. He now plays weekly shows, performing a mix of covers by artists such as Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt, as well as his own original songs.

Chris's original music is characterized by its focus on the stories of working-class people, inspired by his experiences of those he grew up with. His songs are raw, honest, and deeply personal, reflecting the struggles and triumphs of everyday life. With his delicate voice, intricate guitar and banjo picking, and heartfelt lyrics, Chris quickly became integrated into the folk and country music scene of the North Carolina Triad and Triangle music scenes.

Whether he's performing in a small coffee shop or a larger stages, Chris's music has an authenticity that resonates with audiences. With his unique blend of classic country and modern folk influences, he is sure to leave an indelible impression on anyone who hears him play.

He released the 6-track EP Things Has Changed in June 2023.
